Running Focus Stacking Apps (updated March18 2021)
To run a focus stacking app bring up this page in a browser.

On iPhone or iPad (and Android equivalents) it is possible to turn the app into an "app" on the home screen so it can be accessed by one touch. With the app on the display, touch on the box with an up arrow (share icon) and select add to home screen followed by add. Android is similar. However the app can be accessed from the home screen only if there is Internet access.
In order to have the app resident in an iPhone or iPad so that it can run without Internet access, follow the instructions below.
Downloadable Versions of Apps
Files listed below can be downloaded to a computer, smart phone or tablet. They can be executed on the web browser in these devices, including when there is no Internet access.
On a Mac or Windows computer
Download the file StackingApp.zip by clicking on the link below. This will download a zip file to the downloads folder. Obviously there has to be Internet access for this step. That will download the file to the download location.
StackingApp-zip
Note: Version that needs Internet to run
StackingAppLibs-zip
Note: Version with libraries for off Internet use
With Internet access possibly off click on the file StackingAppLibs.zip to unzip it. This will create a folder holding the file StackingApp.html and library files that are necessary when Internet is not available. Click on StackingApp.html to run the app.
On the iPad and iPhone
Using the file system on the iPhone or iPad is very confusing for those accustomed to traditional file systems. These instructions are for setting up the app so that it will work without Internet access. The apps can be downloaded to the iPhone or iPad by using the browser and accessing the link above to download the zip file (while the Internet is still enabled). The file StackingApp.html and the associated library files are unpacked and located together in a folder. Tapping on the zip file will unpack it. But if you click on the html file it will not properly execute for some reason. It is necessary to use a file manager app and place the html file in the storage associated with the file manager app. Then if one clicks on the html file it will execute properly. In order to manipulate files on the iPhone or iPad I use the apps "Files" and "FE File Manager." The free version of FE suffices. Many files used by iPhone or iPad are kept in the iCloud and are thus inaccessible without Internet service. The file system has a section called "on my iPhone" (or iPad). The file located there are stored in local memory.
Once an html app is stored in FE it can be executed by opening FE and then clicking on the html file. This can be carried further by creating a "shortcut" using the shortcut app. Then it is possible to have a named app-like icon on the home screen that can execute the html app with a single click (tap).
